CSX Railroad has announced track work and road closures in London on KY 80, 4th street, near the intersection with Tobacco Road at the Stock Yards. All work will take place the week beginning Monday, September 28 and will include installation of a new crossing to replace the rough crossing traffic is currently using. Two separate closures will take place.
CSX advised road closures for the railroad crossing on KY 80, 4th street in London, at intersection with Tobacco Road, will begin Monday, September 28. The road will be closed at this location starting at 8:30 a.m. Monday, September 28, and will be closed until 6:00 p.m. Monday afternoon. This will be for required track work on the railroad line, and to install temporary road crossing.
Additionally this crossing on KY 80 (4th Street) near Tobacco Road, will be closed to thru traffic continuously for 33 hours beginning Wednesday morning, September 30 at 8:30 a.m., through Thursday afternoon, October 1 at 5:30 p.m. This work will be to completely replace the crossing and replace the pavement wedge on the approach roads.
Variable message boards notifying the public of this closure will be posted in advance, and road closed signing will be in place for this work.
